Look Book Series 9: Indigo

Introducing ‘Indigo’ ...

After 3 months and many hours, repaints and some not so nice
conversations she was finally complete.

She is creative and likes to demonstrate a very flamboyant presence. Her intuition and perception are in keeping with her practice of fairness, integrity, and devotion to helping others. She can perhaps, at times, be a little direct with her self-mastery of profound insights and understandings from her life-long journey by using her inherited wisdom and authority to always be a defender and protector of the righteous ‘til the end. Indigo’s presence is one to be respected and valued with priceless admiration. Enjoy the lookbook!

adding the background colors to 24x48 piece of underlayment

I like to use chalk for my initial drawing
it's easier to erase if I don't like something
Once I'm happy with the lines I then ink them in black and erase the chalk

adding first layers of color to the
tree branch and upper body
adding first layers of color to lower feathers

added a second layer of color to the
tree branch and the first layer to her
ribbon whisps

starting on the first layers of details or so I thought.....
At this point, she and I had a difference of opinion, we went back and forth for almost 2 weeks on details, repaints and nothing was working to either of our likings....so I just finally let her set in the studio for several weeks which turned into over a month. When it came time to have another conversation it was decided to have yet another repaint which ultimately I have to say was the right choice .....we worked it out and she was finally complete. She was happy and so was I, it was a long road of trial and error, emotional discomfort, and frustration.

Available for sale, Indigo is framed and now you can find her hanging out at
Linde Marie's Steakhouse on the Square
In Cave Spring, Ga. until she is adopted by a new family giving her a forever home.
This piece took over 3 months She is a 24x48 mixed media piece on underlayment wood. I used acrylic, Prismacolor colored pencils, gelatos, ink, wite-out pen, and 3 coats of protective spray.

In the end, perhaps Indigo's story is somewhat a reflection of my own. Another reminder of self-intuition and practice of fairness, integrity, and devotion to helping others and to always be a defender and protector of the righteous ‘til the end.
